When you're job puts your car in road trip mode every day

Summers are nice, but also awful. On one hand, I get a break from teaching, I can re-boot and get my car tidied up, driving less and not always having a trash bag and goodies in the passenger seat to tide me over. On the other hand, I miss out on a good pay check for three months, and it's so... dang... HOT!!!!!

But here we are in the fall semester and I'm looking at the passenger seat and thinking to myself, "man, it really does look like I live in this car."

The 2 hour drive, both ways, of course, from Long Island to New Brunswick is a chore. I get some audio book goodness in, which is always nice, but the wear and tear on the car, gas costs and everything else really make me question my sanity, keeping at this grind for so long. My nerves are frayed and my patience is getting thin, and through all of this I am spending more time sitting in my car than I am being active and working on my weight, like I've been promising myself I would for so long.

Ugh. Gotta keep this chin up. Sometimes it gets hard. I miss having a family. Coming home to her was always the one thing that made it all easy...

Right. Onward. Here we go again.
