We beat Hegemone! Not too surprising, I guess, since we hit enrage twice last session. Unfortunately, I died and got a 1% parse. It was during Cachexia II; I got the stack marker and thought it was a spread marker, and ran off to the spread tile (with a split second of confusion: “why is numbers in my spread tile? oh well I will just stand as far away from him as possible”). Sadly, that probably does put me in the bottom 1% of machinists.
(edit: wait, looking at the log, I had a second death at 7:53 due to an ixou. forgot about that one. well, two deaths is definitely 1% zone)
(I also died during our Proto Carbuncle reclear but that one was manifestly not my fault; I wasn’t topped up before Ruby Glow and took 64k damage because people didn’t have mits up. My best Proto Carbuncle run is 16%—still not good, but I’ll take it.)
After the clear, we still had an hour left to start on the Agdistis fight. The most important thing about Agdistis is there are animals and we have to decide what to call them. Initially, she summons birds (these fire line aoes along the bridges) and four-legged animals that look like rhinos, or maybe yaks. numbers called them “dogs.” Luis hurled himself off the platform in protest.
I took some time to sketch out a full taxonomy of animals. Everything is a bird, a dog, or a snake. If it has wings, it’s a bird; if not, but it has legs, it’s a dog; otherwise it’s a snake.
Then Agdistis summoned some dogs/yaks and a minotaur (stands on hind legs, swings a big club). Maybe multiple minotaurs, idk. The point is, I did not take furries into account and now my taxonomy is in ruins. Also it looks like we’re going to need literally yak-relative diagrams. Truly we have been played for fools.
