He says this about every vacation. I don’t know, though. I’m just along for the ride.

I was feeling weirdly ambivalent about this vacation. I always get hyped about family vacations, regardless of destination; I want to go new places, see new things. But lately, I dunno, I just want to stay home. Sleep in. Enjoy my morning mocha and my daily routine. It feels wrong. Road trip! Fun! Exciting!

Anyway, I took the train to parents' house on Thursday evening, and on Friday we left for Louisville. We’re spending two nights there and then three nights in Lexington. The car ride there was uneventful in a good way after our Wisconsin winter misadventure. I always hope to accomplish so much during any given road trip (reading! writing! drawing!) and do not do it, and this trip was no exception, but I did doodle the Big Pig Merry Jig home improvement store so that was nice.
