Weekend away

I went away this weekend with my boyfriend to my cottage and thought we would get some much needed relaxation. When we first arrived it began to rain and we could hear it lightly hitting the leaves on the trees, the smell of the rain in the forest wafting through the cottage. It was a beautiful and peaceful evening. I slept like a baby in his arms.

The next day however I woke with a headache that would last then entire day. We ate breakfast and read our books under the umbrella for a bit. He brought me a few snacks and we drank some kool-aid. Soaking up as much of the cottage as we could. By about 1:30 though I was ready for a nap. we laid down together on a cot on the front porch and promptly fell asleep with the sun keeping us warm.

By the time we woke up it was 4 o'clock. I rolled over to check my phone and found that I had a voice message from the company I work for. I have been on medical leave for about a month, due to pushing myself too far and my body nearly failing me for this ridiculous job. The call was to ask if I had an ETA about when I would return to work, which I do not, my doctor doesn't really want me to go back with this company who have so little care for my health. It had originally been agreed that I would come back and work in customer service. I had told them that I cannot work without a full weekend. Due to my health issues I need two days to recoup after a 5 day work week, sometimes I cannot even make it through the work week. They sent me my schedule which showed that I was to get one day off per week, and it would change days sometimes, I would have been working 6-8 days in a row without a day off. Completely ridiculous to ask that of me when I took time off because I was working that much and couldn't cope.

The second half of the voicemail was to tell me they would like me to pay back the last commission that I was paid, with no explanation as to why I needed to do that. I can only assume that they had switched me over to customer care before paying out my commission to try and avoid having to pay me what I was owed. I stuck around longer than I would have had I known they were going to do this. I made sure that all of my boats were delivered and customers happy before taking my leave. I honestly find it unbelievable that they are trying to screw me like this. I do not have the money to pay it back as I have used it to pay my bills while not working.

I am so sick of dealing with these people. And I know I am not the only one that has felt screwed by this company. If you want to know what I am talking about, maybe look up "disgruntled employee takes backhoe to building." Someone must have gotten screwed worse than I did.

Anyways, this call put quite the damper on the rest of the weekend unfortunately. Now that I am home I am going to try and get everything sorted out so that hopefully next weekend I can actually enjoy myself.
