"at the end of the day, we're all just human beings trying to navigate this world with our own set of challenges" - Ban Ki-moon
"if you've met one person with autism, you've met one person with autism. don't judge a whole population by one experience." - Amanda Rae Ross
sorry for sharing two quotes but I just really like these ones
the first quote speaks a lot because not all of us are the same. we don't have the same problems or challenges as anyone else. we don't all follow a straight line that leads right to the solution. we follow a WHOLE bunch of squiggles that we THINK lead to somewhere. even if those squiggles take us back to square one or something, we still try to make it to our goal at the end of the day
the second quote also speaks a lot to me because some people have negative views on autistic people lately. for example, some people (or most probably) at my school think autistic people are just special needs kids who r weird and stuff. they think they yell and have tantrums all the time and do stuff weirdly, and they make fun of them for it. plus, people online make memes about SPED kids and they're mostly negative. just cause you got an encounter with that type of person doesn't mean you should judge a whole group based on that experience. this quote could even go out in terms of disability. it could be race or gender and it would still prove its point.
