Athena did in fact survive 2023, but we got her on our first session in 2024. Not too bad.
True fact: I’m so good at this game: (editor’s note: not actually a true fact)
(1) During our final Athena 1 reclear, I died during Superchain 2a (which I think killed numbers + Chill who got double-tapped on buddy proteans). I was revived during Dialogos (the tank in/party out mechanic), and got the party stack while I still had rez invulnerability and was away from the rest of the party, thus saving the pull. We barely cleared enrage on that one.
(2) During our Athena 2 clear, I died during Gaiaochos 2 tethers 1. (I had trouble visually locating KJH on the field. I found him in time to successfully bodyblock his tether, but I think I also got clipped by someone else’s tether and died.) I was revived mid during the second round of tethers and invuln bodyblocked for both Dante and newbie, saving them.
(my clear parses were incredible spiced garbage but that’s okay, I still have my 30% Athena 1 clear to keep me warm through the winter)
There’s plenty of time until the next tier, so we’re going on break for a while. “I have freed up six hours per week,” said HGR. (But he still has WoW raid until the season is over. Tough life.)
