Flight Rising: Gen 2 of my Breed Out the Ugly Challenge just hatched. One of the three hatchlings inherited runes instead of gembond. Heir CONFIRMED. Gonna get her a mate from Razanei’s line (either a Zeke x Avanc kid, or a Lysander kid (pending hatch results)). I slightly prefer using Lysander’s kid, because (1) Zeke already has a dynasty in his name, and (2) Chibundu’s branch of the family needs more vertical development (I have nothing beyond G4).

Stardew Valley: Currently in late fall of year 1. Was painstakingly manually watering the fields until HGR suggested putting quartz IN the furnace (this gets you refined quartz, a component of sprinklers). How was I supposed to figure that out?? Anyway, this discovery came after I planted most of this season’s crops, so the fields are very jank right now. Looking forward to winter so I can properly revamp the layout.

This is my first solo game. I played a full game with HGR, and then a partial game with newbie/numbers that mutually fizzled out. But it’s quite different when one has to do all the farming and all the dungeoning oneself. I couldn’t figure out how to safely upgrade my watering can (except over the seasonal change) until Dante informed me there’s a weather forecast. “Watch your TV like it’s 1997,” he said.

edit (3/6): Turns out the TV was also the solution to the quartz thing. The show Living Off the Land literally tells you to put quartz in your furnace to refine it. Who knew.

Pokemon Sleep: Spent last week in Taupe Hollow because I got a salad Snorlax. I have never been so food secure in my entire life. I was making full 51-ingredient meals at the start of each meal period and saving choice ingredients for future dishes. I even gave him full meals on Sunday. Hit 910K, a new record (beating my old, pre-energy-nerf record of 880K).

This week I’m back to Lapis, which means back to tossing 20-odd ingredients into the pot for every meal. Next week is a candy exp boost event, which (hopefully) means I’ll finally be able to evolve my Bayleef—but I’ll be spending the week in Snowdrop because Mareep has a boosted encounter rate. We’re jetting all over the place.
