among skyscrapers

I picked a singularly dreary miserable day to come downtown, especially after all the gloriously sunny mornings we’ve had recently. Sometimes that’s just how it goes. It was the art Discord that got me to come out here: I got inspired by flight’s vacation pics and wanted more interesting spaces to draw.

(But I’m sitting in the office all day? Except when walking, or getting lunch, but I’m not drawing at those times. I’ll just soak in ambience, surely that counts. Also I drew my office desk again. I was hoping to expand it to the room, but the macro proportions were inaccurate enough that it would have been impractical. Specifically, I drew the monitors too small. The top of the bookshelf, which is visually blocked by a monitor irl, would not be blocked by a mini-monitor, requiring me to draw it, but I do not trust my ad-lib.)

The sun came out by lunchtime—thin and tentative, but I’ll take it. When it gets warmer I should totally do some sketching outside. I do a lot of skyscraper/skyline doodles, but nothing that captures the pov of being among skyscrapers.

Reminds me of when I went to the library to sketch the rooftop garden across the street. That was good times. Wonder if I can get a good angle for a street view from there.
