I broke the microwave by cooking too much spaghetti but it’s okay now lol
A couple Thursdays ago, I cooked an entire box of spaghetti for dinner (lots of leftovers). Water sloshed over the sides of the tub. That’s not unusual. But I left the next day to go visit my parents, so I didn’t clean it up.
On Saturday, I got an SOS DM from roommate: the microwave wasn’t working.
I returned on Sunday and had a look. Apparently, the spilled water had gotten into the microwave’s internals. Plugging it in was popping the GCFI outlet. So we set the microwave on the dining table and had it dry out for around ten days. (This was the microwave donated to us when we got the condo. Thankfully we had our trusty old apartment microwave as a backup.)
Yesterday evening I put the microwave back and it thankfully worked. Guess I now know to clean up any microwave spills asap.
