busted

On office mornings I always get a Starbucks mocha frappuccino for breakfast. While in line this morning, I saw an advertisement for their new boba lemonade and decided I’d check it out later.

I went to get one this afternoon. I felt awkward going to Starbucks twice in the same day, so instead I walked to a different Starbucks two blocks away. The guy at the counter was the same server. “Oh hey,” he said. “I usually see you at—” (he gestured vaguely north). busted!!

Anyway, I got the lemonade. It was tasty, and it featured juice-filled popping boba, which was kinda neat. But somehow the boba didn’t go up the straw (despite being a proper boba straw) so I wound up drinking all the juice and was left with a cup full of ice and boba. “Sounds like a skill issue,” you say. This doesn’t happen with normal boba. Overall, I’m glad I tried it, but I don’t think it’s worth repeating. I miss the old tea shop. Their bubble tea was great.
