Rolled for the first time this year! (The last time was December 30.) It was just supposed to be a wrap-up day to get my affairs in order, but now I’m remembering all the reasons I would want to keep rolling, as well as all the reasons I stopped.
Reasons to roll:
But man this game takes so much time. Every time I look, there’s a hunt to send or energy to spend down. Roommate was like “What did you do today?” and the answer was…Wolvden (and scrying aethers because the aether gene expansion just came out).
You can see the subtle signs of burnout if you care to look. Wolves who don’t have their level 20 stats recorded in their bios. Wolves who are 2+ years old and yet don’t have their pictures saved to the pack family tree. I don’t recognize this antumbra base in the lunar shop, but I have the app, so I must have bought it on autopilot without ever looking at it in the newspost or the wardrobe. It’s all small things like that, but it shows I left at the right time before more important things started slipping.
I think I am genuinely better off quit. As I said, I’ve had the full experience. Though I still am inclined to roll a few more times so that Center of the Universe can hit 20. Doesn’t have to be all at once; maybe I’ll check out the Halloween event…

(Also: FrostWalker and Stahlhast are both near the end of their lives. I got to thinking “Would Sephiroth be the premier strength stud once both of them are dead?” The answer is no! Not even close! Shunkana, Alymiell, and Sephan all have rare lineage lead studs with 850+ strength and 1900+ total stats. Sephy is 750 strength and 1400 total stats. No reason to stud to him. This is not a complaint, mind you. In this stud economy, there is nothing anchoring me to this mortal coil, and that’s beautiful.)
