Exercised, Car Wash

11:55 PM

Today was a very uneventful Sunday. I planned on doing some productive things today, but I ended up not really doing anything productive except for exercising. I also didn't eat too much today, so that's a great thing too. I just wanted to do some more today because my task list is endless, but it seems like I procrastinated and put things off again.

I guess if anything I am getting sort of tired of my daily tasks that I do. Of course I did my brain training today and also did a vegan post on X. I did 8k steps of cardio, and exercised a little bit in the gym. But I admit, doing these daily tasks does get tiring. It's easier to just sit back and relax and watch some cartoons, which I didn't do today, but I watched a lot of the show called Horrible Histories, which isn't a cartoon.

It's easier to sit around and do nothing than it is to work and actually get things done. I still have a problem with this.

In the afternoon I went with my parents to get one of their cars washed. I helped them wipe it afterwards. Then we came back home, took a break for a bit, and then my dad accompanied me to the gym.

Anyway, I am very sleepy and tired now. If I could write more, it would be about mortality. Horrible Histories is about history, and they talk about a lot of historical figures. They are all dead now, but at one point, their life was as modern and as relevant to them as our life is to us today. History actually changed and modernized pretty quickly. Even a thousand years isn't so long ago, a hundred years ago is even less. They had a lot of stupid traditions, rituals, and beliefs even from just a hundred years ago. They had witch trials until the late 1700s, which wasn't that long ago.

Even today, we have every modern convenience and advantage there has ever been, yet we still have a lot of stupid beliefs and practices (like eating animals, and also all the religious practices that nearly the entire world believes even today). I like the convenience of being able to watch any show anytime I want to. Even as late as 2006, I remember we didn't have this ability back then. YouTube only came out in 2005, and I was a member in early 2006, but you couldn't watch a popular show like The Simpsons or South Park anywhere online. People would upload an episode on YouTube and it would get taken down pretty quickly.

I wonder who was the first person to upload anime dubbed videos? There is this cartoon website I visit, and there's literally thousands of cartoons and anime on there, from decades. Who uploaded these? Where did they even get them from?

As late as 2007, I remember you had to download full anime episodes if you wanted to watch them, and they were only ever in Japanese, no English dubs existed, or they just weren't uploaded. My first computer only had 20gb of storage. Somehow I was able to play Diablo 2 and other games, I think even Warcraft 3 on that machine.

It's surprising how life changes so quickly. I was just a kid at some point, that had never owned a smartphone in their entire life. Then Steve Jobs came along, and I got my first smartphone, a Palm Pre (because we couldn't afford an iPhone) in 2011? I don't remember the exact year. I actually don't remember carrying a phone around with me everywhere like we do today. I went through school in 2009 and 2010, but I don't remember it being a common thing to be on your phone checking Facebook and texting and all that. Even in college I remember it wasn't such a common thing.

The funny thing is that in college we thought we were all modern and had all the latest technologies. Every year actually, we thought that, and I guess we did at the time. Yet there's always new technologies coming out, that made even just the past 12 years ago seem like ancient history. This all happened within our lifetimes.

Now this AI thing has come out of nowhere, upending everything, and it's extremely powerful. Drone warfare is now the modern thing. Why risk your life when you can send an unmanned drone to the enemy instead? We use the term drones for flying unmanned remote-controlled mini-helicopter things, but i think we also use the term drone for unmanned land killing machines. Ukraine has already made some of them, they're like machine gun robots that are unkillable and have aimbot-like aim.

Anyway, I am very sleepy. I just know that life is short, and I'll be dead before I even know it, no matter how long I live for, and I won't even know it.
