of bagels and wifi

Petty complaint zone: I was bringing roommate to a doctor's appointment, and we arrived at the station in plenty of time to get a bagel (or so I thought). But the lady in line in front of me seemed to have no idea she was in a train station where people need to catch trains. First she had a lengthy conversation with the cashier about where she parked her car and where else she could potentially park it. Finally the cashier kindly put an end to the discussion by saying “Sorry, I take the train here, I don’t really know.” Then the lady placed her order. Then she didn’t have her wallet out of her bag and had to get it. Then she couldn’t figure out how to use the credit card reader.

I got the bagel two minutes before our train arrived, so it turned out okay.

Getting to and fro was interesting because Verizon had an outage for most of the day. Thankfully I bought the train tickets shortly before the outage hit. Then there was enough wifi for me to schedule all our Ubers. (Both the train station at home and the doctor's office have wifi. The downtown station doesn’t, due to being a dump, but we got lucky and there happened to be a wifi train parked at the platform when we arrived.)
