the challenger went down hard

We spent nearly the entirety of our Saturday session reclearing Brute Bomber and finally made it on the last pull of the day. This guy’s timeline is so hard to remember because half of his attacks sound the same: Final Fusedown (actually his first fusedown), Fusefield, Fuses of Fury, Fuse or Foe…

He also does this thing where he jumps to one side of the arena, does a knockback attack (which we arms length), and then does spreads. The melee presumably have designated spread spots because they’re all next to the boss. The ranged players don’t have designated spots. Or so I thought. There’s four of us and an entire arena to run around in. Just don’t go where anyone else is.

On one pull, I did my usual thing and stood in a totally random corner of the screen far away from anyone else. HGR came hurtling towards me, racing across half the arena (through vast regions of totally empty space) to stack directly on top of me. We both died. It quickly snowballed into a full party wipe.

I thought HGR misheard that we were stacking instead of spreading. But no. He was like “Why were you in my spread spot?”

I still don’t think the rest of the ranged, including me, have designated spots, but HGR has apparently claimed a spot, so I avoided that spot from then on.
