I had over 7 hours of sleep today which was apparently enough to mark it as an "outlier" in my Apple Watch vitals. This is the most sleep I've gotten since I got the Apple Watch a month ago. Yeah that's pretty sad. I can sleep anytime and wake up anytime too, yet I still sleep only around 5-6 hours per night, mostly around 5 hours. It's pretty bad.
Today I got a decent amount of sleep, but my car wasn't working. I had this jump starter charging all night, and it was ready this morning. I decided at 9 AM, the time most people would be at work, I would go out and jump start it. It didn't work. I tried it a few times, following the correct procedure, and nothing.
I went to Home Depot to buy a car charger instead and I brought it home to try it out. I couldn't get this to work either, because the charger has to be plugged into the wall and the car at the same time, and I couldn't reach my car from my place, not with the cable it came with. Even with an extension, it wouldn't have been enough. Anyway, this didn't work, so I went to my last resort.
I called up my dealer and told them my car wasn't running. They sent over a person to tow it free of charge. They needed to turn the car on to put it into neutral, and they brought their own jump starter. Theirs actually did work. It started up the car. So odd, how come mine didn't? Anyway they put the car up on the massive truck bed, and then I got into the truck and got driven to the dealer. They said that my car starter didn't work because it didn't have a high enough amp output, mine was 1600A, theirs they said was at 8000A to 9500A, at least five times higher.
So yeah we drive it over to the dealership and they start working on it. My battery warranty has already run out, so I have to pay out of pocket to have the battery replaced, plus the labor. It was around $320. I just walked around the stores nearby and browsed some items while I waited. After around 30 minutes, I went back to the dealership and just sat around and waited, playing the NYT games and other brain training games on my phone.
I beat the NYT games pretty quickly. I have an over 130 streak on Wordle, I think it's an incredibly easy game. Same for all their games, to be honest. Their hardest game has to be Connections, but it's only just somewhat difficult. It's pretty easy too to be honest. I beat their games in just a couple minutes each, I probably beat Wordle in less than a minute, I base this off of beating their Crossword Mini in usually a minute or under, or two minutes, and I play their Mini game a lot longer than Wordle. The first word I start with on Wordle is always the word Vegan, it's what my ex-gf Mary always used too, she's actually the one who got me to play the NYT games in the first place.
Anyway, they did the repairs on my car, and everything worked. I drove it back home and brought the jump starter and car battery charger with me to get a refund at Home Depot. They gave me a full refund instantly, without questioning the validity of my explanation, that I didn't even get to use the charger, and the jump starter wasn't powerful enough. I'm not sure if they fully understood me, since people's main language here is Spanish. There is sometimes a language barrier when I try to express things in English. They pretty much just said sure, and gave me the full refund. This place is awesome. I love Home Depot.
When I bought these items, they were already opened. They were 99% likely returns, and I thought about if the person who bought them just put their item back into the box and got a refund once they got their car working again. I shouldn't really care, but it did kind of bother me when I thought of people "cheating the system" like that. They'd be breaking the unspoken honor rules of society by doing something mischievous like that. In a well run society, it doesn't matter that much, but when everyone does it, society doesn't do well.
An example of a well run society is Japan. I've heard lots of personal accounts of people leaving a phone or wallet or a backpack behind on a bench, and coming back the next day more than 24 hours later and it's still there untouched. There's also some semi-viral videos such as how the Japanese phones, watches, tablets, laptops, etc, in Apple Stores in Japan aren't plugged in nor do they have an alarm. I've seen similar semi-viral videos about Singapore or maybe Bali doing the same, someone leaving their laptop on a table for hours, and coming back and it's still there. If people can be trusted, then you have a well run society like these countries.
I don't like how these countries torture and kill animals though. Every country in the world does when it's entirely needless and barbaric. I didn't start eating until like 3 PM today, and I pretty much just ate rice and beans, some vegetables, some Beyond Burgers. I ate for around $5 of food the whole day. Well, until night time, when I ate an entire bag of chips which was $4. I hate and regret that because of the calories and the weight gain. It's stupid that I do this, eat too much and sabotage my progress. Anyway for such a forward thinking country, Japan is very backwards in their animal morality and ethics.
Anyway I didn't work that much today, because I was exhausted. I just rested basically the rest of the day. I did my workouts, brain training, remade the Habitica challenges, did some vegan activism, and some other personal tasks. I went to Marshalls at night too and bought some groceries. They have so many unique foods and vegan products over there, it's awesome. So many. I took a picture of some of the products they have there. It's awesome.
I got invited to work out tonight by Eric, but I was too full from all the beans I ate today. I probably ate over 1000 calories of them.
Anyway, I am so tired and sleepy now. We'll see how much sleep I get tonight.
