Anyway, continuing from yesterday, I'm neutral to both main parties. As someone neutral, I view the government as both Democrats and Republicans taking turns to solve the country's problems in their own way. In some ways Republicans are right, in other ways the Democrats are right. I'd vote for an animal rights party if there was one, but the closest party I'd affiliate with is the Green Party. I care about animal rights and the environment significantly more than any of the issues that both Democrats and Republicans champion.
Abortion? Make it legal. Women can have any number of reasons to abort, just let them. If someone is pro-life anyway, why do most of them torture and kill animals, or pay someone to do it for them?
Illegal immigrants? We don't necessarily have to deport them, just stop giving them benefits such as free housing, free meals, free education, and make it illegal for them to work. and they will leave on their own. It doesn't benefit American citizens that we are giving them all these benefits and not our own.
Education? It's absurd that college is extremely expensive in the U.S., while it's basically free in other countries. I think colleges should be affordable. $30k a year for college doesn't really make much sense nowadays, a lot of the information can be found online for much less or even free. I'd be able to hire a personal private tutor to teach me in a subject exclusively for much cheaper than that.
Healthcare? The reason why it's expensive is due to insurance companies. Americans also need to take better care of their health. Pretty much every American over 50 is unhealthy and suffering from chronic diseases. There are even Americans in their 20s who are very unhealthy. I've been watching a YouTube channel today called Peter Rogers MD, and the guy is brilliant, he graduated from Standford with straight A's and got his MD from Harvard Medical School. He makes these presentations with tons of data and research. He advocates for a low fat, low sodium, high starch vegan diet as the healthiest for humans, and I agree with him. The data and everything he presents affirms it, and that's actually why I bought a bunch of starch and veggies tonight.
My views on these issues already clash with both sides. This is why I'm not for either party. These issues are also relatively minor compared to the 90%+ destruction of the Amazon rain forest and other habitats attributable to animal agriculture. These issues are relatively minor compared to the hundreds of billions of animals we needlessly torture and kill. We're destroying the planet and killing its inhabitants when we honestly don't need to kill any of them at all. We can have every great thing in life while choosing to not kill any animals, it's absurd we do at all. It's absurd basically everyone does except for the vegans who see through the charade.
Yesterday was a normal work day. Today was too. At night time I did some vegan activism in Viejo San Juan with Gus and Eric though, and that was fun. Then I went to Wal-Mart after and bought some groceries. It's basically just as cheap to buy at Wal-Mart as it is to go to Costco. There are 1 pound bags of frozen vegetables for around $2, sometimes under $2, and at Costco it's $10 for a 5 pound bag of vegetables. So everything is basically the same price. I no longer see the point in buying in bulk from Costco all the time, when it's just as affordable at Wal-Mart to not buy in bulk. I bought potatoes and vegetables mainly, and some processed vegan meats.
Anyway, today I got a decent amount of work done. And I'm tired now. I'd keep writing but I'm very sleepy. So I'm just gonna try and sleep.
