Recall, if you will, that Sphene was planning to invade Tural, so Wuk Lamat, the ruler of Tural, led a team of assassins to infiltrate Alexandria and assassinate Sphene (and wipe out the entire population of Living Memory to de-incentivize future invasions). Well, Alexandria is now holding a state funeral for Sphene. Wuk Lamat insists on attending because ??? There’s a scene where a little boy expresses grief at Sphene’s death and Wuk Lamat bends down on one knee to comfort him. What is going on?? What is this writing??
Anyway, this weekend, we were raiding Sphene EX. (“Sphene to win,” said newbie, who also has very strong views about the Living Memory genocide. He’s aggressively avoiding the MSQ while I’m passively avoiding it. We make a great team.)
Sphene did in fact win. At least, we didn’t clear this weekend. She’s probably the most aesthetic boss we’ve had this expansion. Colors are lead/chartreuse/jade in case you feel like making a Sphene fandragon for some ungodly reason (specifically lead blend or any other gene with cyan accents).
Not a whole lot to say about the fight, except that I’m glad KJH’s cursed tether strat was not a winning strat, and I still don’t really understand the part with the ice tethers. It’s common in any given EX fight for there to be at least one mech that I never understand, because we just clear, but I should at least try to figure out the ice tether thing before I kill someone else by standing in their spot.
