Worked and Exercised

11:03 PM

Though being at my parent's home is a change of pace, being here starts to feel normal again after a while. I've only been here for less than two weeks, but it already feels like I've been here forever. Anyway, I think life is good and great. My life has been alright so far. I'm from a third world country, moved and studied in the U.S., done pretty much everything and had lots of adventures. It's been pretty good.

Today was a pretty casual day. I worked, and then my dad and I went to the community center at night time and exercised. I did my normal routine of walking for 20 minutes, running for 25, and then doing very high speed running and sprinting for a minute or two. Then I did some exercises like 10 pull ups and 10 chin ups, not in a row, I split these up into two sets of five each. I also did 69 leg raises in a row. I set my daily amount of leg raises to be 68, it was supposed to be 2x the max I could comfortably do, which was 34, and I always do 1 more than the amount, so I did 69. I did these in a row though, not 2 sets of 34.

In the morning I also did some exercises. I did 55 push ups, 22 squats, a minute of planking, and yeah another 69 leg raises in a row in the morning. I was planning on doing 15 pull ups and 15 chin ups, but I didn't have the energy for it. I did my last 5 chin ups in a row to failure and struggled doing my last chin up.

Then I ate a lot. Throughout the day I ate 3500 calories or so, all vegan foods obviously, no animal body parts or secretions. This morning I weighed 173.0 pounds. It fluctuated between 172.9 and 173.0. Being a lighter weight always gives me this subconscious excuse to eat more. It's very stupid. I hope that my exercises today offsets this high caloric intake today, and maybe it does.

I texted Ami a bunch today. We just talked and shared stories for a while, haven't talked to him in months. There's one person I haven't texted back yet. I keep forgetting. I responded to Mary again yesterday. Yesterday was largely the same as today, except that I didn't exercise, and my parents and I went to the mall to shop for Christmas presents.

Oh, this morning too, I bought Things 3 the task manager app. I was just reading reviews of the best task managers, and it seems to often come out on top. It was for Black Friday sale prices, so I bought the iOS app for $7, and the desktop app for $36 if I recall correctly. Yeah it's not cheap, or maybe it is cheap, it's a pretty cheap price to me in my opinion compared to subscription model apps. Strides for example, is the main habit tracker app that I use, since it has a counter feature where I can type in like doing 35 push ups in a row or something, which I did that today too. Strides is $60 a year through their $5 a month subscription, or $80 for their lifetime. So, $43 for a productivity app that you keep for a lifetime, is much cheaper than that.

Personally, I think the best task manager app is the one you use. It doesn't matter which one it is. It could be Reminders, which is free, or even just a notepad and pen. I felt kind of bored and wanted to try out what all the hullabaloo was all about with Things though. I've literally tried every single Habit tracker app out there, seriously, and nothing compares to Strides. I installed and tried out so many because I wanted some alternative that works similarly to it, and I can't find anything that does. The other ones might seem like they have more features, but they lack in a lot of areas, and they don't compare in the end.

I'm not even sure if I'll use Things 3 all that much. I haven't even used it much today. I still used Strides a lot though. The daily tasks I have on Strides is really easy to complete, but I often get so tired and lazy to complete them. Anyway, I'm very sleepy. At least I got this journal entry done, which is one of the items.

Anyway, that was my day today.
