Today was a really good day! It was pretty much just a normal work day. I've been back in Puerto Rico for about a day now, and things are pretty nice and chill. Life is alright.
Today I installed this app called TickTick. I purchased this other productivity app called Things 3 a few days ago, because I've seen reviews and comparisons with Things 3 and TickTick, and people raved about how good Things 3 was, that it was the best productivity app out there, way better than TickTick and competitors. Well, after using TickTick, I think TickTick is even better and the best productivity app out there. It all depends on your usage though, a piece of paper and a pencil can be a million times better than TickTick or any app, it just depends on how you use it.
TickTick with their Folders and Lists, just makes a lot more sense to me than Thing 3's Areas and Projects. Obviously they're both similar in that they're used to organize tasks, but they just both behave differently and were written with different ideas in mind. The hierarchy in TickTick is that Folders can have Lists, and inside Lists, there can be categories, and inside categories are your tasks, each task can also have multiple subtasks. In Things 3, you have Areas which can contain projects, which can contain tasks, which can contain subtasks. So there's one more level inside of TickTick than Things 3, but the weird thing about Things 3, is that projects are supposed to have a complete date.
For the whole Things 3 task management thing, they have their own rules about how you are supposed to organize your tasks. It works obviously, people love it and rave about it, but I don't like it that much.
The cool thing about TickTick as well, is that it just feels so much more complete, and it has so many more features. It also has a habit tracker, a pomodoro, and an Eisenhower Matrix, and of course a calendar with multiple views. The interface for TickTick feels so nice and clean, and it's regularly updated, with the last update being today, unlike Things 3 which hasn't had any updates in a month.
Anyway, I don't know how the time went by so quickly today. I didn't watch any anime or any videos or anything. I did 15 pull ups, and 15 chin ups at home. I ate basically just these vegan whoa dough bars, so I didn't even spend any time cooking or anything, not that boiling takes any effort or any time, which is what I mainly do to cook. All I did today I guess, was work, and play around with TIckTick.
At night time, I went to the gym and exercised with Eric and Gus. It's been around two weeks since I last did these workouts, and I started off doing the same weights and reps I did last time from two weeks ago. I do feel like I am getting stronger. I just ate some protein powder and creatine as well. I take the protein powder all the time, but rarely any creatine, as in, I probably take it twice a month on average or something, which I need to do better in and take it more often. I don't have any excuses for not taking it, except that I bought this creatine from Marshall's and it has this "Yuzu Coconut Flavor" which tastes like pink flowers, but I don't like the taste.
Anyway, this random memory just came up. Back in high school, there was this classmate I had who kicked a football 65 yards. It's a legendary distance. His name is Sam, I forgot his last name, and I'm pretty sure his first name is Sam, but I could be wrong. Anyway, he's cousins with a famous billionaire who was played a top movie played by a top actor. Well, whatever, I keep being vague about personal life details sometimes, but fine, Sam's real life cousin Sean Parker created Napster and was played by Justin Timberlake in the movie The Social Network.
He just came up to my memory for some reason. I just remember him being the kid who was able to kick a football 65 yards. I would not have believed him if they didn't have a video of him doing it. He wasn't even the one who told me he did it, it was some of his friends in class one day, a few of them were on their phones watching this one video and making comments about it. They showed it to me, and it was about him kicking a ball 65 yards. Whatever happened to him? He seems like a legendary dude. I haven't heard from him since.
Anyway, today was the first day in a long time where I did work without having any background noise. I got a lot of work done today, and was very proud.
Today I also lost my earphones at the gym. They had this Apple adapter to them, so I lost that too, and the case. It probably happened as I was pulling out my glasses from my pocket, but I dismissed not feeling it as maybe I left it at home. When I came back home, it also wasn't here. I've had that for a few years and went on a lot of adventures with it. It was only $20, and the adapter was maybe $9, and I could easily buy new replacements, but still, I felt a loss losing it. Well, it was a Klipsch S3, which apparently goes for $140 on eBay now... I bought it for like $20 years ago though, weird.
Of course I did brain training and some vegan activism today. I always recommend people to not eat animals if they are against animal cruelty.
Anyway, that was my day today.
