The more biographies I read of people, the more I learn their success wasn’t entirely accidental. Sure, a lot of luck was involved, but they also took needed steps to attain their success. I’m reading the autobiography of Jake Paul, him and his brother are practically undefeated in boxing, and that’s no coincidence.

I didn’t know this about the brothers, but they were star athletes throughout their schooling from elementary to high school, both of them competing and trying to outdo each other. Their dad was a football coach, and they both loved and breathed football. By the time Jake was in 5th grade, he was doing 200 push ups a day, running sprints, jogging, every day because he wanted to be in the NFL when he grew up. They played different sports and were athletic, setting records for the schools they attended.

The back cover of Jake Paul’s autobiography is him shirtless, showing off his six pack abs and muscular frame. He’s not just some random YouTube comedian nerd, he was an athlete before anything else.

They were also making videos since elementary school, both of them, hundreds of videos. They were already making a name for themselves even back then, learning the ropes of comedy and vlogging. Yeah they were amateurish and corny at the time, but that’s how everyone starts.

I’m still basically at the beginning of the book, but it was insightful learning about their past. They weren’t just some random lucky comedians who lucked their way into winning boxing matches, even against Mike Tyson, they’ve both been comedians and athletes since they were kids.

Still tired and hungry. Just a few more days to go. Hopefully I can make it and survive the whole ordeal. That’s really all I care about. I don’t care much about the weight loss or getting fit anymore. I just want to survive and be alive.
