9:25 PM
Today I woke up at around 12 AM. Yeah, that's not a joke. I woke up at 12 AM and worked and exercised the entire night from 12 until 6. I also ate way too much again, but it's fine, it's something to learn from. At around 6 AM, I went to the nearby gym and started running on the treadmill.
My plan was to actually go to the calisthenics park and run there, but it was raining out, so I had to run in the gym instead. I jogged on the treadmill for around 40 minutes before stopping. I could have gone on for longer, but stopped at 40 minutes just because. I started running at 5 mph but then slowed it down over time to around 3.6 mph to keep my heart rate below 150. I was doing zone 2 running, which I knew about 5 years ago, but is a huge thing now. It was something unheard of 5 years ago enough that you had to explain it to even experienced runners, but now everyone knows what it is.
That's the thing, even if you have knowledge about something beneficial, like zone 2 running, if you do nothing with it, then you get no benefit from knowing about it. Weight lifting is also beneficial, so is calorie counting, so is being disciplined, so is choosing to not hurt, kill, and eat any animals, so is eating lots of fruits and vegetables, but if we do nothing with this knowledge, then we don't apply any of the benefits.
The rest of the day after arriving back home, I worked until around 1 PM, and then I passed out in bed unintentionally. Thankfully nothing at work came up while I was asleep, and I already put in my hours earlier in the morning anyway.
While working from 12 AM to 6 AM, I also tried doing some pull-up and chin-up personal bests. I was able to do 7 of both of them, which is awesome. That's pretty close to my previous best. I think I could have done more for both too, but I wasn't fresh since I'd already done a few pull-ups and chin-ups prior to this, and I was still restoring my muscle glycogen. ChatGPT says it can take a week or more, and basically 3 weeks to get back to regular strength.
But yeah I want to comment on the recent political events in the United States. Recently the Palisades and Eaton Fires that took place, and burned down nearly 20,000 buildings and around 60k acres with over $250 billion in estimated damages. You know what's crazy though? That's only around half of Elon Musk's net worth. He could basically single-handedly pay for all of those damages, and still be the richest or second-richest person in the world. Yeah, that's how far ahead he is to the second person, Jeff Bezos.
That region too, is home of some of the wealthiest people in the entire country. Palisades and Eaton are extremely wealthy from tech, Hollywood, and whatever else they produce over there. The homes there are mansions, and a lot of stars and celebrities live there, some of the most famous people in the entire world live there. Yet one person, Elon Musk, his net worth is so massive, that he can singlehandedly reimburse all the damage done to America's elites and still be considered the richest man in the world. Isn't that insane?
He wields so much power, mainly from boasting. Thunderf00t has done entire video series' on Elon Musk, and he basically just goes around making hyperbolic claims about what he'll do, and then gets tons of investor funds. Everyone ignores his failures to deliver, and he continues to boast and raise the value of his company. His companies are not the most innovative nor ground breaking, they don't produce they best tech, nothing even close. I think Tesla sells 1/100th the amount of cars that Toyota sells, but Tesla is still massively worth more than Toyota. Toyota makes more revenue too, but Tesla is still worth multiple times more. It doesn't make sense.
Trump on the other hand, added tariffs to Canada and Mexico the other day. I've read from social media that both Canada and Mexico are panicking and this is a huge win for the United States, but from economists writing about the tariffs, they say that this is Brexit all over again and that the United States is doomed. Who is right?
I think Trump is just setting things up for China to overtake the U.S. I saw some Red Note video recently of a Chinese man in his 20s buying his dream home, and no joke, this home is fancier than pretty much most if not all of the homes I’ve seen and been in. Insane. I would love to have a home like that. That home would probably sell for millions in PR, it probably was only like $200k in China.
The tariffs have been paused for 30 days apparently. I wonder what will happen next?
