HGR has been giving me flak for joining the Serious Combat & Raids Valheim server when I’m not into Serious Combat & Raids. I just wanted to play with my friends!! Even if it is mostly toddler-style parallel play. Look, the reason we have so much boar meat for our turnip stew is that I’ve been hunting in the meadows.
newbie is leaving this Thursday for the Hololive festival in Japan. While he’s away, he turned off raids on the server (it’s not like HGR is going to play Valheim solo). So I can enjoy a couple weeks of raid-free blobbing around. My project is to map out the entire contours of the starting island. (Technically we don’t know it’s an island, but newbie always refers to it as such, so I assume he’s got meta knowledge about how worlds are generated.) I’m hoping to set up an outpost base to the north that can be used as a staging ground for northern sea expeditions.

We didn’t raid this past weekend. The weekend passed by in a blur. Current Monday morning mood: I forgot that banescales are dragons. I was doing a bit of coli training as part of my wake-up walk, and the coli captcha popped up with a baby banescale. My autopilot brain moved to tap on the banescale. My conscious brain was like “Wait, that’s not a dragon, it’s a banescale” but my finger had already tapped, which was, in fact, the correct thing to do.
