bb jet lag

As usual, I didn’t sleep that well at brother’s house. For one thing, they keep their house very warm, which is nice and cozy during the day, but I like to have something covering me when I sleep and it gets too hot. Additionally, my sleeping spot is the living room couch. I’m fine sleeping on the couch, and there’s nowhere else anyhow. But at 6:30 am, the automatic lights turn on, and they’re bright. Also around 6:30, BB wakes up. (I once thought, “If BB’s crib is in a different room from his parents, how will they know when he wakes up?” This is one of the Top 10 Most Naive Questions of All Time.) Also around 6:30, my parents wake up and come up to use the restroom. By 6:50, BB is running around and Mom is making breakfast and the whole place is Grand Central Station. There’s no hope of sleeping.

On the plus side, this fixed all my issues from springing forward the prior weekend. Also this morning’s team meeting got canceled, so I got to sleep in.

Still getting used to my new Fitbit. The heart monitor is pretty sweet. Like, when I’m standing at my computer walking in place, listening to music while I train fodder, or watching someone stream in Umineko, how much do I get out of that? According to Fitbit, it’s not bad. I spend decent amounts of time in moderate and vigorous heart rate zones. So that’s neat. I also like getting “credit” for more intense walking instead of, say, strolling through Costco.

However, it’s still annoyingly bossy. I don’t need it to tell me I’ve “been at risk of undertraining recently” because I’ve been spending a chill weekend with family. It won’t even let me remove the notif until I’ve reached a certain percentage of the target cardio load it sets. I don’t need lip from my step counter. Speaking of which, the step counting is a tad glitchy. I’ve noticed at times it deducts around 200 steps from my total. It tends to happen when I’m syncing my device and checking my statistics while walking. I think it adds the missing steps back in later, but I’m not totally sure.
