suplexing an evil wizard

I slept poorly last night. I went to bed at around 12:50 am, late for an office night but an hour earlier than usual. It took me forever to fall asleep. Then I woke at 4 am to use the restroom and it took me forever to fall back asleep. Then I had a dream about being late to the weekly meeting. It went like this:

===

I was at a hotel where I was staying with my parents, having a fancy hotel breakfast. Then it was time to get ready for work so I could be there for the 9 am meeting. Walking down the hotel hallway, I detoured into a conference room where two evil wizards were playing a music box with a song that could hypnotize children. They didn’t know I was immune to the music. I used my mental powers to magically suplex one of the wizards, banishing her from this plane. The other wizard fled. Everyone in the room cheered for me.

However, at some point I apparently set down my work clothes, and I couldn’t find them. I also couldn’t text the boss to explain that I was going to be late, since my phone was in my work pants. My friend Gumbi was there and let me use her phone. Somehow I couldn’t type a simple text message. I wasted a lot of time trying. Eventually I found my work clothes. I gave Gumbi back her phone, asking her to text the boss on my behalf, and then left to get changed.

Unfortunately, there was a family using the hotel restroom. They were taking their time. In desperation, I changed into my work clothes in the hallway outside the restroom. Then I ran from the hotel, jumping down entire flights of stairs in my haste.

===

The impact from jumping down an entire flight of stairs woke me up. It was 6 am, 50 minutes before my alarm was set to go off. I dozed intermittently and finally called it quits at 6:40.

After all that, Fitbit gave me a sleep score of 71 (“fair”), which goes to show that Fitbit doesn’t know everything. But I told everyone at the weekly meeting about my dream, and we all got a good laugh out of it, so maybe it was worth it.
