Back to Normal

5:36 AM

Whew. I weigh 160.5 pounds today, I just got on the scale a few minutes ago. The previous time I got on the scale was three days ago, and I was 163.6 pounds. My weight has been steadily creeping upwards the past 2 weeks, every time I got on the scale, I would weigh slightly more. So I've been fearing getting on the scale again and haven't gotten on the scale in 3 days.

To me it still felt like I had been eating a lot the past 3 days. Yesterday I actually believed that I weighed 170 pounds, because I had been stuffing myself, and looking at my shirtless self in the mirror, I thought I gained weight. Whenever I made a comment about wanting to lose weight though, my parents would tell me I am already so thin and that I don't need to lose anymore weight. To me, I feel like I need to lose another 20 pounds to be honest, to get a ripped body.

This morning, when I looked at myself in the mirror, I felt like I didn't look that heavy, which is what motivated me to get on the scale again, and I was pleasantly surprised. Again, to me it felt like I had been eating so much food, so I'm surprised I lost any weight.

The only thing I ate yesterday was 2 pounds of vegetables, a bit of rice, and a few pounds of fruit, and this filled me up. The 2 pounds of vegetables was only 200 calories though, and is only around $2 worth of food. It's probably the cheapest, largest volume, and lowest amount of calorie food other than potatoes. It's a lot of volume because it filled up this entire saucepan, and the entire thing was only 200 calories total. I think it's a great idea to buy and eat pounds and pounds of frozen vegetables because they're cheap, extremely healthy, extremely filling, while being barely any calories.

That's my strategy to lose weight this time around, to eat pounds and pounds of vegetables every day. This strategy is clearly working because I was 163.6 pounds 3 days ago, and 163.5 pounds the day before that. Yesterday I was contemplating on fasting again to lose weight, because again, after eating so much food and not getting on the scale, I felt like I was 170 pounds yesterday. As nonchalant as my parents are about anything I do, they are completely against me fasting. They pretty much force me and yell at me to eat, so I can't fast while I'm here. I can eat pounds of vegetables though.

I also ate pounds of fruit yesterday. A few large plates worth, and a lot of dried figs as well. Again, due to the volume I was eating, completely stuffing myself to nearly bloating, I imagined I weighed 170 pounds again. It feels amazing to be nowhere near that, so I'm going to keep applying this strategy of eating pounds of vegetables and fruits only, and a bit of rice. I'm eating basically zero fat right now, and a low amount of protein, while still working out as well. I did all of my exercises again yesterday, and I haven't lost any strength.

People also think that plant foods have incomplete protein, but that's not true. Every plant food has every single amino acid, all essential, all non-essential, all amino acids. Even white rice has all amino acids, plug any food into a detailed calorie tracker like Cronometer, and it has all amino acids. There are also several studies highlighting this and verbatim stating that all plant foods have all amino acids. Most plant foods just have low amounts of protein in general, that is true, but none are incomplete.

Due to the large variety of plant foods humans can consume, we can eat tens of thousands of them, the highest macro ratio protein foods on the planet are from plants. Spirulina and TVP (textured vegetable protein) are basically pure protein, same with tempeh and seitan. So in comparison, and I hate looking this up and searching for protein and calorie content of animal body parts because I don't consider them food, but the body parts with highest protein, only have 31g protein in 165 calories. In comparison, spirulina would have 40g of protein in 165 calories. TVP and Seitan would actually also be around 30g protein for 165 calories, and tempeh would be half that. Depending on the TVP though, it can be a lot more. If we are using weight though, then these plant foods would have 60 to 70g protein per 100g.

Anyway, I am feeling good and in charge of my life again. I just thought I was spiraling out of control the past few days, thinking that I weighed 170 pounds again. It wasn't a pleasant feeling. I'm glad to be 160 pounds again. Yeah, I write about weight a lot, needlessly perhaps, but it's a big deal. Overweight people make it a resolution every year to lose weight and they never fulfill it, that's how difficult losing weight is. One of my major life goals is to get ripped, have visible six pack abs, and be able to show it off in pictures.

There's a lot of goals I have of course, and they seem so easy to accomplish, if only I moved in the right direction.
