Minoxidil Aged Me Terribly, Stopping It Forever

2:47 PM

This morning my parents were both hysterical about how much older I looked. They said it was due to all these creams and stuff I bought recently from Temu and started applying to my face, and the red light therapy to my face as well. I started thinking about what it could be, and even from the first day the signs were prominent. It's from the minoxidil.

I started using minoxidil on my beard and eyebrows because it was supposed to lead to more hair growth in those areas. The before/after photos people had were convincing, some people went from having no facial hair at all, to being able to grow a full beard. I felt like I read enough literature, viewed enough posts on it, watched enough videos, to believe that it was completely safe. Well my research didn't go far enough apparently.

There are posts as well from people reporting increased aging, wrinkles, heavier eye bags, just from a few days or weeks of using it. No one ever puts up any photos because it's embarrassing. I've now read tens of posts on this topic, anecdotes of people saying it aged them, but no one has put up any photos. I might be the first. I took before photos because I was expecting a huge beard within a few months. I can actually already grow a full beard now, except I just want it to be fuller, Anyway, the results are horrendous, after just a few weeks of usage.

I did dermarolling and applied minoxidil to my face twice a day, in the morning, and at night time. It dried my skin, and skin started flaking, but I ignored it, and would put on moisturizer as people have recommended. The moisturizer often did nothing, as it would still have some visible flaking later.

These photos are only like 2-3 weeks difference. The difference is prominent though.

Anyway, I hope that I can recover from this. I have pronounced eye bags now, where it did not exist before. I have laugh lines starting to form, whereas it wasn't this prominent before. From posts, people have mixed messages about whether or not they recovered from this. Most of them say that yes, they were able to fully recover after stopping, but some people said they weren't able to.

Anyway, I'm not sure if I will recover, but I hope I do.
