It’s time for the new raid tier! Not sure what we’re calling this one. Last tier was the AAC Lightweight M1-M4, so everyone called them M1-M4. This tier…is the AAC Cruiserweight M1-M4. “I feel so vindicated right now,” said HGR. “I definitely said this was gonna happen if people called them M1-M4.” He proposed the nomenclature R1-R12 (R for aRcadion, since A is taken by Alexander).
Teamcomp: Tiro & KJH are tanks. HGR & Dante are healers (Dante’s raid healer debut, as far as I know). And then there’s the dps (me, newbie, numbers, Luis), featuring numbers as BLACK MAGE. team adjust pls
We’ve had three raid sessions so far. Last Saturday was OH GOD HOW DO I OPENER. Since we’ve been doing Eden, I’ve gotten used to the abbreviated level 80 opener, and suddenly like twenty buttons got chucked into my rotation. 100 MCH opener is so bloated. I think I’ve gotten it back to a minimally acceptable state.
Last Sunday’s raid got called off because numbers was experiencing literally historic flooding and thought he might have to evacuate. He lives on a slope, so he had a guaranteed path of escape. He got all electronics off the ground and was ready to grab the cats and go at any time. Thankfully the rains stopped shortly before the water reached his house (though he heard water sloshing in his a/c vents, rip).
This week was a normal raid week. “How was disco night, friends?” said Kan. (He’s already at M8/R8 with his static.)
“Disco isn’t dead yet,” said Luis.
“Honestly, disco is doing great,” I said.
On Sunday we got a 42% enrage. Go us???? Also, HGR literally fell asleep during a mid-raid strategy discussion. I could hear him snoring in the Discord call. Then he woke up mega groggy and needed a recap of the last ten minutes of discussion.
Personal notes re: the last frog mechanic: First, the frogs will do a bunch of cones (non-aimed). There’s like three waves. Stand MID and respond to calls. Not much movement is required, so you can re-center quickly. AFTER that, there are two waves of volcanic torches. One wave will carve out a safe lane in the middle; one wave will carve out safe lanes on the sides of the arena. (Can be in either order, can be horizontal or vertical.) When the safe lane is in the middle, stand DEAD CENTER. Dante will bait a frog. When the safe lanes are on the edges, bait the NE frog. The safe lanes are two tiles wide, so stand as close to the edge as possible.
