AI Is Unfair

12:37 AM

My mom asked me to make her a resume a few days ago. She sent me a bunch of her details last week and I have been procrastinating on this task of making her resume. Today I had the brilliant idea to just ask AI to make it for me. I remember when we had to make resumes by hand, and it would take a few hours even for something simple. This required looking for a template, filling in all the info, formatting the page, and then proofreading and tweaking it a bit to make it perfect.

Well I just copy and pasted the information my mom sent me and sent it to ChatGPT, it was pretty basic info. I asked ChatGPT to make a resume for me using this info, and it created a resume filling in a lot of details on its own, even rewriting some of the information to make it more impressive. It also wrote a decent professional summary all on its own. It did this instantly. All I had to do was open it up, proofread it, and then export it as a PDF to send to my mom. That's a lot of time saved.

I think this next generation is going to be lazier than ever. Fitness and health are going to be priceless. Attractiveness is going to be priceless. In an era of AI where it can do everything, human intelligence, human skill, human creativity, human labor, is going to be nearly worthless when AI can do these things infinitely better. To learn music and create songs, a human would need to dedicate a decade of their life minimum to the craft to be decent at it. AI can be a master level in an instant.

To create decent artwork, an artist needs to dedicate their life to the craft. There's a lot of artists, most are amateurs. To be truly great, they really need to spend nearly all their time and thoughts on nothing but art. Yet AI can create any kind of artwork in an instant. Decades of human experience erased.

For some scenes in Studio Ghibli Films, it took thousands of human hours to create. I've seen this one gif of a crowded area in a Studio Ghibli film, and it had the caption saying it took like 50,000 hours of artists working on this one scene to create it. AI can recreate any scene in a few minutes. Also yeah, I just looked up that gif again to verify, and my memory seems to be perfect, the caption for this gif does say it took 50,000 hours to create this 4 second clip, yet I can't find any source for this claim, so I think this article is lying about it.

AI can be applied to music, art, word documents. AI can just do a lot of this work now. Why would anyone try it themselves manually, or hire others to do it?

Back then AI couldn't generate art, so we had to hire artists, or do the artwork ourselves. It can take hours or days to get the artwork back. Yeah the work was phenomenal, but it could be pricey and take a few days. AI can just do any work instantly. It's pretty scary.

I'm so sleepy. Honestly when you are very sleepy it sort of feels like being drunk. Everything is woozy and I can barely get a single coherent thought in. If I rambled about something stupid, it's because I was feeling drowsy from lack of sleep. Anyway, that was my day today.
