Cirrus, the wind ancient, has been officially slated for May and a teaser image posted...and it’s a horse. It’s like 90% horse and 10% dragon. It doesn’t even have wings.

I’m pretty meh on this. It’s the second ancient in a row that has been a dud for me, since I’m bleh on adult everluxes. (Big fan of the grubs though.) However, all the horse fans are going feral in the chat. Mav hatched like 80 eggs in preparation for the release. worm is also hyped; she’s always posting about her horse petsim, and now she gets horses in dragon form. So I’m enjoying the positive energy and hoping I warm up to the breed once it’s officially released and I can start scrying.

It's a gem breed. Here’s the true indication of how lukewarm I am: my capitalist radar is silent. When sandsurges were released, some people planned to give away hatchlings to players who couldn’t afford the scrolls. I thought, “What a bunch of spoilsports. Why try and ruin things for all us profiteers trying to make hot cash?” Now, for cirri, people are planning to make Stock the Pond pairs and give the hatchlings away for free. I’m like “Oh cool! I love Stock the Pond! Good luck!”

(I did have a wild thought of making a Razanei-line STP cirrus pair. Thankfully for my wallet, this won’t be possible until the initial release hype has died down, so there’s no point. Renzokuken, my triple spruce fathom, won’t be RTB for 8 days, and there are no compatible triple spruce females on AH. Renzo’s parents are already exalted. The bridges have been burned. It’s over.)

(Anyway, I don’t want an ancient STP pair, because ancients can’t wear apparel to hide their tripleness.)

In terms of horse prospects, I have five Razanei x Caspian kids lined up. That’s just the new normal. I also have two eyeburners, because if we’re gonna have horses they might as well be neon. There’s the pear/magenta/caribbean g1 I rescued from Mav’s lair cleanout (codename: sugar riot). There’s also a magenta/orchid/cyan from Exarchia I yanked off the fodder floor for 6g last night. I can feel bad financial decisions impending. Hopefully the impulse passes and I do something more sensible like make them obelisks or yeet them.

Thinking about it, we had a really good run. Aberrations got me to join FR. I liked undertides, loved aethers, and liked sandsurges, auraboas, and dusthides. I say “not every ancient can appeal to everyone” but every ancient did appeal to me until the last two. So, here’s hoping the next ancient will be a return to form. I’m still going to have fun spam-scrying the horse though.
