dream drop distance

Last night I dreamed I was drinking coffee. It was more bitter than my usual, but also sweeter, and it was delicious. Taste doesn’t always come through in dreams, but it did this time.

Then I woke up to discover it was 6:41, nine minutes before my alarm went off. Well, time to get up. I’m glad I had a good drink of coffee before I woke up. Peak efficiency.

I went in to the office on a Friday because I’m technically subbing for Jeri, and I figured I should have access to the shared drive just in case. (Do we even use the shared drive these days? Who knows. tbh I was hoping nothing would come up.) This place is even more of a ghost town than usual. Even the overflow Starbucks was half-empty this morning. After my go-to Starbucks closed, the customers dispersed to nearby Starbucks, and the little store a block down has been swamped with overflow…except on Fridays, apparently.

Or maybe just this Friday, who knows. Reasons it’s an inauspicious day to leave the house, in order of ascending importance:

(1)   It’s Friday the 13th.

(2)   It’s forecasted to be dreary and drizzly all day.

(3)   It’s meatheat. Everyone’s staying home to coli. I had planned two pairs to level to 25 this microholiday, but my social calendar is pretty booked (roulettes with newbie when I get home today, then BG3, and we’re raiding both Saturday and Sunday) so I will likely have to scale back to just one pair. There’s always Warrior’s Way.

I should mention I’ve warmed up to cirri considerably, despite being lukewarm on the preview. They scry really well. They make jank color combos look great. Easiest way to win me over. I was skeptical about how secondaries would look on their non-wings, but it turns out they translate really well; since there’s not much real estate, accent colors get roughly equal coverage with base colors. And they’ve got fur tufts all over to distribute the secondary/make a balanced design. So yeah, I’m a fan. It also helps that I strongly prefer the m-pose to the f-pose (shown in the preview). f-pose is too horsey for me unless specifically going for a nightmare horse vibe, e.g. horse of the apocalypse with spectre + glowing eyes.

Also I got crawfish jianbing for lunch, plus a lychee slush, and zero (0) emails all day, and made solid progress on my new project. Turns out it was an auspicious day to leave the house after all.
