where did the time go

Dante’s been playing Fantasy Life: The Girl Who Steals Time. It’s honestly not that interesting to watch (the plot is mediocre, and nobody really wants to sit and watch someone else chop trees) but it did make me want to play the game. There are so many things to level up! Whee! So I impulse bought the game Saturday night, which was not the brightest move since it was during meatheat* and I have a busy FFXIV week ahead**, but I did it anyway.

===

* meatheat report: I leveled one duo to 25 (Avalanche/Fallstar, wildclaw bros) and got a second duo to 21 (Sprite/Fae, arcane aethers). On the downside, I leveled a hot total of 8 fodder all microfest.

** FFXIV report: The plan is to get a ring this week (375 tomes), and next week I’ll have seven swords and will get the weapon (500 tomes). However “this week” is short, since I’m out Thursday midday to Monday night. For Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, I’m going to want to do expert + normal raid + trial, plus Howling Blade once, which will get me a total of 385.

Once I have the ring and weapon, things are chill. I still technically need earrings and bracelet, but they’re low priority; I already have (non-BIS) raid earrings, and my crafted bracelet has crit as its primary substat so it’s decent.

Anyway, Fantasy Life. It’s basically ADHD: The Game. Like, you’re on a plot quest that takes you through a forest, but there are a bunch of trees on the way, so you chop them down. Then you have a lot of wood, so you make furniture for your base camp. At your base camp, you see your veggies are grown. You harvest them and re-plant, but buying the seeds uses almost all your cash. You could sell the veggies you just harvested, but you think they would probably fetch a higher price when cooked. So you take up a new life as a cook, only to find the level 1 recipes don’t want veggies, they want fish, so you head to the dock to fish…

This isn’t even getting into the massive open-world zone with mechanics for leveling up the areas and recruiting unique companions. (I really want companions for all the crafting classes. I was like “hey I’m getting competent at the carpentry minigame” no bro, Kunugi is just giving you a massive stat boost. you suck at every single other crafting job)

This game is just a lot. But in a good way.
