Why do we have to go somewhere else for school projects?

I don't like going somewhere else when practicing for PE. I would only agree to it if the school is closed. My classmates (especially the ones who are not from our school) would always go outside of school for PE dance practices. It's so unnecessary. We have the school all to ourselves after class. Here are three reasons why we don't have to leave the school:

  1. It is safe. Security guards are guarding the school. They can stand watch while we practice. On top of that, the curfew time is literally at 7 PM. Our parents would be super relieved to know that we are in a place that they know. Yes, the place might be near, but the streets might not be well-lit, and you never know if there are people with bad intentions nearby. Next thing you know, you're already have a missing persons report with your face all over the news the next morning. There was a time when 3 teenage boys who were taller than me cornered me and my friend. They were trying to rob us. It was a good thing I had a whistle on me, and a police station was near. That happened in Grade 10.
  2. There is plenty of shade. Many places in our school offer that, and I'm not just talking about the buildings. WE HAVE TREES EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK! If they want a gust of wind, the senior high school lobby offers a lot of that.
  3. There are snacks in the canteen. If you just want to go somewhere outside the school to practice or do any other project because there's food and company, you can just go to the canteen. There are a lot of snacks and drinks you can choose from. But if the reason why you would practice is just to do that, then what's the point of going at all?

What I can't believe is that our school allows this to happen. Our school is one of the most prestigious universities in Northern Mindanao. Many times have they seen their students like this, yet they don't do anything to prevent it from happening. They only modify the school rules! I know they're very liberal, but this is too much freedom.

Back to the subject, despite having these views, I cannot convince them to stay at school. The entire group is very persistent, and I can't win 1 vs 10. I guess I'll just have to roll with it. Who am I to question superior authority anyway? It's sad, annoying, and stresses me out more. Hopefully, nothing bad happens to us for the next four days.
