Okay, vacation’s over. Time for random dental emergency.

To back up, for roughly 10 days before the start of my vacation, I’d been getting a foul taste in my mouth at random intervals every few hours. Couldn’t figure out what it was. At one point I thought it was water contamination, but that wasn’t right; it happened more often when/after drinking water, but the water itself tasted fine, and switching to bottled water didn’t improve matters.

Then I went on vacation. Thursday was the final day of the tour. We stayed in Dublin that evening and flew back to the States the next day. I was brushing my teeth Thursday night when the crown popped off my tooth. welp

(For a sec I thought a literal entire tooth had fallen out of my mouth. Kinda freaky.)

(Also, that was the foul taste. The sealant on the crown was dissolving into my mouth.)

Anyway, yeah. Gotta get that seen to. The soonest the dentist can see me is Tuesday morning. In the meantime I’m just being careful with the area, chewing with the other side and such. The uncapped tooth is quite pressure- and cold-sensitive. Glad the crown held out until the end of the vacation; would’ve been bad if it happened early on.
