A Day at my Cousins' House

I've just started journaling as of today, so here goes my first entry! By the way, I'm writing this fairly late at night, so this might be a little jumbled. Just my attempt at trying to do this daily.

I woke up a little later than I would have liked today, but it was only at 6, which is still fairly early. I need to keep the habit of waking up at 5 daily, but I wasn't thinking too seriously about my habits for the weekend so I didn't do it. My dad got donuts from the really good place we always go to, and then we drove up to visit my cousins. The whole plan was for him to try and work on the boat that's been sitting for years at my cousins' house, but the spark plugs (I think that's what they were) didn't work with the boat. Apparently a long time ago my Uncle Tony forgot to winterize the boat and it's engine got messed up. And now my dad is desperately trying to fix it so that we can go boating again. I miss doing that. I didn't get to do that this year due to my family on the East Coast being in Maine instead of New Hampshire when we visited. I would have liked to have seen their new house, but it was still fun teaching my cousins on that side of the family Pokemon. The boy who owned the cards got really mad when he lost after I taught him the real rules, but he also picked the deck that was held together with spit and wishful thinking. His sister felt bad, but I told her not too because she played fairly. The boy was just a sore loser. Something a lot of people need to work on. It takes practice, and he's pretty young, so it makes sense.

I showed my cousin Ethan Balatro first, and for some insane reason he beat the game with flying colors on the first try. I was helping him, but I still don't know how he did it. I've never done that before on my own, and he was still new when he was helping me. He must be lucky. Very lucky. Then, when I was lazily scrolling through Habitica, I decided to ask both of my cousins about getting the app themselves to do stuff with me. They said yes, and we promptly downloaded the app, made a party, and got them some tasks to work on. I also found a bunch of challenges to join on that app, which gave me a ridiculous amount of tasks I cannot finish within a reasonable amount of time tonight. I can't exactly read and write for 30 minutes and finish this blog while still making it to bed before 10 pm. I might be able to get the tasks done tomorrow, but hopefully they won't take out my health all of a sudden for not being able to do them. I want to remain faithful to the app, so we'll see what happens. I only really joined the challenges so that I could get gems to make my own challenges, but they are actually pretty interesting and useful. I don't want to spend money on the app, so this is what I've got. I hope to make a monthly drawing challenge based on my favorite drawing prompts. I wanted to do one for Swordtember, but I don't have the gems for it. I can always do the tasks on my own however.

I had made a party for my cousins and I a little while ago, but I just destroyed it and joined a new party with them so that we could do more things and interact with more people. I think this will be more interesting, and hopefully fun. I'm hoping I'll be able to keep up though. I don't want to mess anything up with not keeping a ton of track with my tasks.

I'm gonna go to bed now, but it'll be fun to do some more Habitica stuff tomorrow.

Another Habitican. Coming from a guy that surely has hundreds of Habits, Dailies and To-Dos combined, challenges can be a blessing and a curse. I'd say exit the ones you can't finish on time but keep the tasks, then modify the tasks in a way that you can go on about daily. Anyhow teaching your cousin Balatro is a good feat lol.

@Fugo Yeah, I’m trying my best. I mainly want to do the challenges so that I can get gems to make my own challenges. I want to create challenges for art prompt lists like Inktober and things like that. Also, my cousin somehow is insane at Balatro now.
