Lately there have been a tremendous amounts of bot visitors to the website, crawling every page and inflating everyone's view counts. We have updated the view counters to filter out any known bot and crawler IPs from Google, Meta, Microsoft, Facebook, and other known crawlers. Per our privacy policy, we keep up to 90 days of visit information in our logs, and for the visits that we do have records of, we have removed any views that came from these IPs. Everyone's latest public entries entries should now have an updated and lowered view count with these bot IP visits filtered out.
With this update, everyone's public journal entry views should now reflect human views and visits only.
We haven't applied this update to any other view counter except for the view counters for the public journal entries. If the view counters in the photos, logs, and other pages where we also have a view counter get out of control, then we'll implement this update in those places too. For now it seems the bots and crawlers don't visit those pages much.

Hey, I was wanting to ask this on the last post update but wasn't sure if it was a dumb question or not but I'm going to ask anyways. Is there an app version for A Year Ago Today or is there eventually going to be one? I know an app would take a LOT of work, it's far too complicated for me to understand LOL so I'm not trying to sound demanding I am just curious because one of the reflection questions says something about iOS (But I can't click on it, idk if I am supposed to LOL I might just be an idiot). Thanks! :)
@rachelrae2003 No problem at all! Don't disparage yourself! The iOS App is under development and will be released in the near future :)
