Another Perfect Day

3:32 AM (of Friday, October 3rd, 2025)

Today (Thursday, October 2nd, 2025) was another perfect day. I did all of my exercises and other activities again. I thought it was 3 days in a row that I've been doing these exercises, but apparently it's been 4 days in a row now. That's quite incredible.

Today I went ahead and watched the guy who said he did 30 pull-ups every day for 30 days' video. I mean 30 pull-ups a day isn't that remarkable. I'm doing at least double that minimum, I'm doing 30 pull-ups and 30 chin-ups per day minimum, although they target different muscles, the exercises are roughly the same, so that's effectively 60 pull-ups per day. The entire video is 25 minutes long, has nearly a million views, and 15 minutes of it was about how important it was to do what you say you will do, and how proud he was of doing 30 pull-ups per day.

Several minutes of the video was talking about how difficult 30 pull-ups per day was. I'm here effectively doing double that, and more, per day, and I'm like 30 pull-ups per day isn't really much. 100 per day, now that is a challenge. Like right now, I can't see myself being able to do 100 pull-ups per day. It's also because for every pull-up I do, I want to balance that with doing 1 chin-up, so if I do 100 pull-ups, I also have to do 100 chin-ups. And also, I have to do squats and push-ups, and other exercises, because I can't just do 100 pull-ups and chin-ups and not do any other workouts. So I can't see myself doing 100 pull-ups per day, it seems very far out of reach.

I also saw another video today about exercising. The guy is a professional fitness person, and has done the research on the topic. He says it's good to take a break every other day after working out, and not work out at all during those days. Meanwhile there are a ton of "I did X workout every day for 30 days" videos, and they are getting really amazing results, like exceptionally amazing results, working out daily. So these two ideas are conflicting. I mean, I do think in the long run, it is probably better to take a break every other day, but for the short term span of a month, it's very effective to work out daily.

As long as what I am doing is sustainable, I plan on doing these same exercises every day. It's not so difficult, and I don't feel sore. I never feel sore. Even on the first day when I just did all of these exercises out of nowhere, from not exercising at all basically, I had difficulty getting started working out again, but I still didn't feel sore the next day. I credit this to not eating animals, something a lot of other vegans can also relate to, that they just never feel sore after any workout.

Today (Thursday, October 2nd, 2025) the exercises were easier than ever. I ended up doing practically all of the exercises in the morning. Yesterday (Wednesday) it took me the whole day to do all of the exercises, but today I did them all pretty quickly in the morning. I did all 30 pull-ups and 30 chin-ups in the morning, within two hours. Tomorrow (Friday) I will try to do all 30 pull-ups and 30 chin-ups within an hour.

The most challenging about the chin-ups and pull-ups, are my fingers. My fingers started to feel pinched and hurt after a while, after several days of doing this. That's why I started to grow calluses on my fingers, some parts are getting thicker to be able to handle doing these heavy workouts more. I welcome the calluses, every fitness person I know has widespread calluses on their hands, mine are just starting. It will hurt me to do pull-ups and chin-ups until my calluses are grown.

Jane Goodall passed away yesterday. It was such devastating news. She was probably the most influential woman in the "kindness sphere" until her passing, akin to Mother Teresa. She was vegan too, a legendary figure.

I rescued a few insects in my home recently. One when I was taking a shower, I saw this thumbnail size black blob fall into the shower tub, and get washed towards the drain. I leaned in to get a closer look, it was a spider, pretty large, bigger than the holes or else they would have fallen straight in. I turned off the faucet and then let them dry for a bit, they couldn't even move until they were fully dried off, then I lifted them out of the tub, putting them to the side, and they ran off.

There are sometimes crickets in my home. There's a cricket in my room right now, making a bunch of chirping noises, but I haven't entered my room in a few days since there is also a mosquito in there, I have just kept the door shut. I think this same cricket in my room right now, is the same one I rescued a few days ago and let outside, and they just came back in for some reason. On the first day or night since I got back here, which was nearly 2 weeks ago, I encountered a cricket in the bathroom. They were quite aggressive and started hopping towards me and headbutting my leg over and over, seriously, so I ran off this first time, when I came back a few hours later they were gone.

I encountered this same cricket the other night, and this time I sat down on the floor, wanting to capture them to let them out. They started headbutting me again, a few times, and then when I wouldn't budge, they turned around and started to run away. I left the room and got a large glass jar, I saw them running into a corner and hiding behind a spray I put there, so I just lifted the spray and they were behind it. It took a while, but I got them into the jar, and I rotated the jar horizontally so they wouldn't hop out, and I let them outside.

There is chirping in my room again right now, as I type this. I think it's them. But what if it isn't? What if it's a second cricket, one that the first one knew, and they would meet up and stuff, until I separated them? Who knows. I recall there only being one chirping though, while that one cricket was here. When I let them out, I didn't hear any chirping for a while. It's not until tonight that I started hearing chirping in my home again.

But yeah, I think it's good to let out these creatures and not harm them. Most people will agree, but most people are also hypocrites. They will rescue select animals, but selectively torture and kill the rest. Most people have dead bodies in their fridge and plate, when it's entirely needless to. They may rescue one animal, but end up killing many more that they don't even notice, they are used to the dead bodies they have in their homes.

In my senior year of high school back in 2012, one of my best friends at the time went vegan. I hated animal cruelty and I grew up with farm animals as well, so I saw it. I also had vegetarian friends who had never eaten meat in their entire lives. Yet I still ate animals at the time. It would have been amazing if I just went vegan there on the spot, with my friend, back in high school. But it would take a few months later until I became a vegetarian, and then another few months until I became a vegan. So not that long actually, but those days seemed like they were a lot longer. 6 months in high school was a long time, 6 months as an adult in their 30s feels like a second.

If someone really wanted to rescue animals, the best way is to not eat them. Hundreds of animal lives are saved each year by not eating them. It's very easy not to, it's cheaper to be vegan, significantly healthier, and uses 90%+ less land and water. All flavors can be recreated vegan as well, because all flavor is vegan to begin with. I used to cook and eat animals, they were tasteless and tasted like garbage without vegan seasoning added, we can add the same seasoning to meat substitutes and get the same exact taste. The only difficult part is the cognitive dissonance and changing, most people are closed minded to most ideas.

Oh yeah, for 28ish years or so, I wasn't able to do a single pull-up or chin-up. Now I can do over 30 of each in a single day, I was already vegan for 10ish years before I could even do a single pull-up or chin-up, so all of my strength improvements have been from just eating vegan foods. It's really not difficult at all to build muscle, strength, or endurance, not eating animals.

Anyway, that was my day today.
