Being on Lioden is weird because in many ways it feels like coming home. Suddenly, generation is important. Being NIB is important. In fact, I think WD’s low-gen NIB culture was imported from LD. I glance at chat and see someone bemoaning the fact they bought a “dirty” lion; the inbreeding is 10 generations back and requires multiple clicks to view. And we’re back to a world where bases and marks have objective value based on rarity. Breed-only bases, combo bases, NBW bases/marks, event marks, raffle marks, RMAs, mutations and MoDs…it’s a mess, but a comfortable mess.
I am just out here vibing, which is why I have a g9 lead/stud who is the grandson of one of the preeminent “big name” studs of the day (Ysdaar) and has only candy-colored event marks. He gets a decent (nonzero) amount of stud requests, which is frankly shocking to me.
We’ve filled up the den, with ten pack members in total. That’s two more than planned: an extra cubsitter and an extra patroller. Our head cubsitter is a chased I found in explore. In WD I was so fixated on stats I never had the urge to keep a chased, no matter how nice. It was slightly sad seeing everyone else get excited over chaseds, while for me it was just “how much can I sell this for?” So here in LD, I am flexing my casual privilege to keep a chased for fun.
And of course I had to get a pie (when in Rome, y’know). And then Snowcat was like “oh hey, a leaderboard stud rolled” and I sent an impulse stud request and am keeping the pup as an heir. (In this game, it’s good to pick an heir early, since pack member stat gain is uncapped and patrolling gives tons of stats.) And just like that, we’re full. The squad:
