I am hesitant to post my poetry on here, or anywhere for that matter. Because I do one day intend to publish them all in a book, and I am not worried about anyone here stealing them, but just them being out on the internet in general makes me uneasy because they are so important and so precious to me. But I do want to share my poetry with people and hear what they think about it, it is very encouraging being able to write poetry people enjoy.
But there are many instances of people ripping off other people's work online, and these are just too important and too precious to me to risk that.
Again, I don't think anyone here would do that, I trust all of the people here that I know about and have seen write entries and interacted with. But that is only a small percentage of the users, there are thousands of users who I have never seen post and likely use this website for the planner (I also enjoy using the planner).
But I do wish there was a feature where I could only make the post viewable to certain trusted users, so it isn't just out there on a website. I do understand creating different features for a website is far more complex than it seems. I can imagine hours of work must have been already poured into this website.
There have been some amazing improvements as well! So don't misunderstand, I am not complaining or talking badly about the site, just about people.
I would say this is anywhere on the internet, people can behave in such vile ways and deceitful ways like stealing other people's art. Plus with AI stealing art from real artists, I don't have faith that it doesn't also steal written art. So that is another reason I don't want my poetry out there on the internet.
That is why I deleted my previous posts that were of my poetry.
I use my Google docs for writing my poetry. Maybe I could post a link invite where I have to approve who can view it or there is a password required and I only allow the users on here I have interacted with and know won't steal my work to see it.
But I did write my sixth poem yesterday, it was a very emotional one as I was having a rough night, so very powerful I poured a lot of myself into it. I write these poems with the hope they will help someone one day. So part of me wants to share them online, thinking that someone might find encouragement or be moved by reading them. But they are too precious for me to release until I have properly copyrighted them. There are a few people I share them with in real life, who live in the apartment complex. I think I will stick to that for now. I might consider the Google documents thing, I know Google documents has options to set a password or have to approve viewers I think.
They aren't poems exactly, not all of them. They are poetry with the format of a short story or manifesto. Like the three meshed into one to makes something different. I am setting a goal to write one poem per week. I might add that goal to my planner, probably as a weekly habit.
Nothing exciting happened today. OH WAIT! I had my consult for my tattoo! I met with the artist and got a set sizing and font and price. The tattoo itself is $100, which I think is a great price and with the deposit (Tattoo artists usually require a deposit for an appointment so they don't have people scheduling and then cancelling and they don't get paid for the wasted time) plus I want to tip him.
I am SUPER excited! They are running a promotional/sale in November so I will be able to get the tattoo at the end of November! I will definitely post pictures here once I get it done!
I did some arts and crafts with some friends, but that is it. Probably going to make the miniature pizza I got for dinner
