Spooky Season- Creative Writing (HAPPY HALLOWEEN)

I wrote some Halloween themed creative writing. I am going to write a journal entry later today as well hopefully (If I don't forget LOL)

Spooky Season

By R. C. (October 19, 2025)

October is spooky season as we all know, however it also represents something much more special to me.

It is a season of celebrating fears that have been faced and overcome, and it is also a season of caring for the inner child with fun and candy and joy. It is a time to honor life’s ever changing nature as the leaves fall and the air grows cold.

Being raised christian I was forbidden from celebrating halloween, it was seen as demonic, as evil.

But why is fear seen as an evil thing, when there is so much it can teach us?

Why is the darkness seen as something demonic, when we would not know what light is if it weren’t for the existence of darkness?

You cannot have one without the other, as I have learned. Darkness and light, good and evil- they hold hands in a sacred dance, the eternal flow of the universe.

As the summer falls into winter and the leaves change and wither, it is important to reflect on the past year as it draws to a close.

To celebrate the fears overcome.

To remember what was lost.

And to celebrate what was gained.

Spooky season is of course, a time for lively celebration and candy and costumes.

But it is also a time to celebrate obstacles that have been conquered and to honor the way the changes of the seasons reflect the changes in life.

People come and go.

Memories are made, and opportunities are missed and taken.

Pain and suffering are experienced, and joy and healing are found.

So as I celebrate this spooky season, I aspire to honor all of the changes in my life-both the good and the bad, as well as celebrate the fears that I did not let keep me down.
