Over the past few weeks, HGR has become increasingly bearish about our prospects for this tier. He predicted we wouldn’t beat the Brute Abombinator before January. He didn’t think we had the damage. We aren’t exactly a cutting-edge dps squad, as the Sugar Riot saga demonstrated. Also, KJH’s computer is still in the shop. Chill is subbing, and he’s a raiding pro, but he’s got substantially lower item level.
Against all odds, we managed to clear last Sunday, after a long time being stuck at enrage. Enrage log over the previous few sessions:

It’s a good thing we cleared when we did. After Sunday’s clear, newbie said: “No raid this Saturday at least, since that’s my move.”
“And I’m out next Saturday,” said Dante. “It’s fucking over.”
“Oop I’m out the weekend afterwards,” I said.
“And I’m out the weekend after that,” said Dante.

Despite our clear, HGR continues to be bearish about our prospects. As he points out, we only barely beat enrage on the Brute Abombinator, and floor 4 is always a dps increase. We simply may not have enough gas in the tank to beat the tier. As if to prove his point, we failed to reclear this Sunday (we had enrages at 1.1% and 2.9%, plus a wipe at roughly 6% after most of the team got tankbusted). “That one Brute Abombinator clear,” said newbie wistfully. “It was as if it was a beautiful dream shown to us by someone…”
