BB is really into books. Left to his own devices, his chosen activity is often bringing you a book to read to him. This weekend’s top storybooks: Little Blue Truck and Green Tractor. He knows the stories by heart and gets excited at his favorite parts, such as the BIG TRUCK getting STUCK IN THE MUD (oh no!!). He also enjoys his baby books, such as Baby’s First 100 Words. He likes pointing at the pictures and saying what they are, or having you do the same.
We were on a page of foods, and I asked, “What’s your favorite food?” He said, pointing: “Salad!” I’m not sure this kid has eaten a salad in his life. I don’t think he understood (or he just doesn’t have the introspection to determine what his favorites are). I’d say his favorites are noodles, cake, and fruits. He’s a noodle boy. But he has decently broad food tastes for a two-year-old. What he ate on Saturday:
Down in the basement, we found an ABC jigsaw book. This is actually kind of troll because BB has no idea how to do puzzles. I mean, he wasn’t fussed about it; he took out the puzzle pieces, made a couple attempts to put them back, and then moved on to something else. It’s troll for the parents because they’re left with a jumble of puzzle pieces from several different puzzles, and it’s not like the book has a bag or anything to keep them in. I stuck them in a Ziploc labeled “ABC jigsaw book” but I suspect the effort is futile and they will never be reunited with the book, let alone reassembled.
Jigsaw pieces aside, he had a good time looking at the letters and pictures. “R,” he said. “Bunny.” In the background, I was like “R is for rabbit” but it probably bounced off and it’s fine.
