It’s Black Friday on Lioden. Big hype.

I never cared much about Black Friday on WD. I’m f2p, and WD’s Black Friday mods have all been variants of piebald, a strictly inferior version of merle (no layering, no opacity adjustments). But over on LD, the users have paid their dues with years of pie mods, so the devs are treating them to cool new things. Last year it was ennedi vossoko, aka the only good primal. This year it’s mngwa, a cryptid feline.

I was explaining this in umineko. “If you buy $50 in gems, you get a bonus applicator for the new morph! Only available in Black Friday sale! Wow!”

“Did you spend 50 bucks in gems?” Dante asked.

“I did not.”

“You’re missing out.”

A lot of f2p players are salty in chat about missing out. Myself, I’m having a great time kicking back with popcorn and enjoying the party atmosphere. People are out there spending loads of money (both USD and gc), but having fun is free. Every couple minutes someone posts their new mngwa king or mngwa pup or IBFs a mngwa breeding attempt. Never a dull moment.

Also I’m making hot cash. The gc exchange rate has plummeted from 1:850 to 1:600 (this also happens on WD, but it’s more exciting here because I am new and poor). Additionally, I’m selling NBWs. Everyone’s frantically trying to breed mngwa, and golden bases get a +1% boost to passing, so any golden NBW will sell for 1 gc. I sold one and saw she had been renamed MNGWA ATTEMPT #13. I checked again 10 minutes later and she no longer existed. It’s a tough world. But shortly thereafter I saw the person in chat excitedly showing off their new mngwa cub, born to MNGWA ATTEMPT #14.

For myself, there’s no rush. My next lead, casino night zone, is locked in. He’s not a mutie, but he’s got stats and heritage (g3 with no Ysdaar/YoRHa) and his cubs scry very well. After that, I was planning to go for an ennedi, but I might go mngwa instead. Depends on what the market is like in mid-January.
