Today is Tuesday, August 18th 2020 and it was the start of something bad. Yesterday was a practically a perfect day, but I ended up messing up, so I reset all of my streaks yesterday. Today I messed up again and I reset all my streaks again, and because I was resetting my streaks, I didn't even bother doing any of my normal activities, I just let it all go.
I also got pulled into a pretty stupid and risky activity today, which I'll write about in a private entry since it's really stupid. I spent a lot of today just doing that, after work that was all I did. It was so stupid and such a huge waste of time, I didn't get anything done.
I'm writing this entry on Thursday, so I know what happens tomorrow too, and tomorrow I just did more of the same. On Thursday I'm planning on catching up on all my streak items, and then resetting everything for Friday, and seriously doing a full reset again and sticking to it 100% for the rest of the month until my birthday, and forever after my birthday too.
Maybe I should just set aside one hour for bad activities, and then the rest of the day I should do more meaningful activities? I think that's what I plan on doing, because I still kind of want to participate in the new stupid thing I started, but at the same time I don't want to do too much of it. I think one hour a day of rest / break / relaxation / anything, is a good compromise if the rest of the day is spent wisely. Like I said my plan is to start that on Friday, while I get caught up on everything for Thursday.
Today was the start of something bad, but I'm putting limits to it, and then starting something much better on Friday.
It's good to know your limits on things. It's also good to give yourself a break once in a while. I don't know what you consider to be "bad" activities, but if it's something like downtime or something you could do for fun then it's not necessarily wasted time, because taking time for yourself is important too- even if it's just rewatching a show that you enjoy.
