Despite the technical difficulties and break down I had yesterday morning, the rest of the day went okay.
After my very long venting post got deleted, I cried for a few minutes then actually got to work. I found a notebook and went through the fanfic I've been working on since 2017 and wrote a one-line summary of each posted/finished chapter so I could remind myself where I'm at with it since I haven't worked on it in over a year.
That took most of the morning and early afternoon. Then around 2pm, my husband took me and the youngest two kids to Sonic for shakes because I had been craving a chocolate shake for weeks. I also got a burger (first time actually eating food from Sonic). Then we drove around for a bit before going home.
My issue of being sleepy after eating is back which sucks. So I was tired most of the afternoon until around 7pm when I suddenly perked up (ugh). I hadn't done anything in that time because I was too tired. I just stared at Facebook for the most part. Then after I got the 10yo to go to bed, I got my notebook out and finished going through the chapters written. Then I typed it all up because I like having both physical and digital copies of notes just in case I can't reach one or the other.
That got me thinking about the story so I made more notes online until I had to take my night meds which usually knock me out within an hour. I feel like I actually go something done and plan to do some more outlining for the story.
I started writing this in April 2017 as part of a Camp NaNoWriMo project then started editing and posting chapters in November 2017. I haven't posted an update since November 2018, and haven't worked on it (editing or writing) since sometime in 2019. I want to have a collection of finished, ready to publish chapters before I start posting so I don't drop a chapter then disappear for a year again. This is why I don't normally post as I write. Ugh.
Anyway, I have up through chapter 37 posted and now have 38, 39 and 40 ready to go with 41-50 written (minus chapter 49 which is empty) but needing rewrites/edits. Then I have through about 60 plotted out in fairly good detail. Things get a little fuzzy after that, but I have 80 chapters plus an epilogue planned. Some of those are pretty concrete, but a lot are just ideas that need to be slotted into place and fleshed out. I'd really like to get on that today, but already, my oldest distracted me for like 45 minutes after she got home from work. Now I've been sitting here for an hour and haven't started yet. In another hour, the 10yo will be done with his zoom lessons, and I'll be helping him with his homework (or rather, his testing this week--which he doesn't want to do so I have to keep him on track).
At least I feel like I'm accomplishing something in my writing even with just the outlining of already written chapters because it's jump-started my brain a little.
