Second Day Working From Home

Today is Friday, March 20th 2020. I checked my email account in the morning which is one of the first things I did, if I recall things correctly. Today was another day I decided to work from home. Again, due to the current events and state of emergency, everyone can just work from home if they wanted. Normally my work office does not allow this, and we would have to request explicit permission to be able to work from home, today though it was just implicitly allowed. I think everyone can work from home this time around.

I got assigned a pretty big project at work today. This is one that will definitely take a while. Again, I'd prefer not to go into too much detail since I don't know what is allowed and what isn't for me to write about. Yeah, basically I was just given a task that would take a while to complete. Simple enough. This is what I mostly worked on throughout the day.

There's another client that I have work to do for, but I can't access their network from my home. So they're sending me a physical laptop with all their security stuff installed, and access to their network, they shipped it out today. I'd rather prefer just working on one project at a time, but I'm often given several to work on at work. I have to divvy up my time so that I'm working on each project for equal amounts of time. For example I have two projects I'm working on and I have 8 hours to work, I'd split it up into 4 hours for each project today. Well I do have two projects I need to work on, but I can only work on one today since I don't have network access to the other, until their laptop arrives.

I would like to say that today was productive. But, it just wasn't as productive as it could have been. I watched this guy's YouTube videos, a lot of them. His name is "Weird Explorer" on YouTube and he goes to different countries eating different kinds of fruit. There is such a huge variety of fruits around the world, I think he said there were like 70,000 fruits or something, and so far he has tried out around ~400 different kinds. I don't think he has done one where he repeats the same family, for example one species of apple vs another apple in the same family, so far all the videos I've seen from him were from each very different looknig and tasting fruits.

Anyway I just watched this guy's videos while working. I could have done a lot more work if work was the only thing I was concentrating on, but nope. I mean I still got a good amount done. I showed my boss the results of today's work and I think he was happy. I could have gotten a lot more done, but honestly now that I look back on it, this was a fair amount of work that was completed. Yeah, this is a fair amount. I wouldn't complain if someone I hired gave me these kinds of results at the end of the day. From my perspective, they worked on it all day. JUst from my own perspective and knowledge of what I am capable of though, I know I could have done more.

Around 6 PM I stopped working. I think I played some Path of Exile, I think. And then I chat with my parents for a bit. I think that was all. It was an entire evening but I don't know anything I did that evening. What did I even do? I probably watched more Weird Explorer videos and played some Path of Exile. I can't think of anything else I did. Anyway, that was my day today.
