Today is Tuesday, November 3rd 2020 and today was election day. I don't really follow politics much or at all, but I still went out and voted. It's mainly the Electoral College that votes the president and vice-president in anyway, and they don't have to follow what the popular vote says. Even if their district says to vote for this candidate, they can choose not to. But regardless, I still went out and vote.
Because I don't follow politics much, I just voted for whoever I follow is voting for. A person who's videos and podcasts I watch and listen to is Rich Roll, and he mentioned that he voted for Biden. Based on him being a person I follow and who's research and insight I respect, I followed his vote and voted for the democratic party. I'm impartial on parties, though I likely lean left. If I had full choice, I'd vote for Green Party every time if they made it to any of the ballots.
Anyway going out to vote was fun. At around 4 PM, I just changed clothes, headed out the door, and walked to the nearby high school to vote. I walked there and was the only person who walked! I felt cool as I was coming up from the opposite direction of where the parking spots were. I went inside the high school, which I'd been to a few times already, once as a volunteer for an event when I was attending my own high school, and a few times to vote in other occasions. I admired all the sports trophies and awards this high school had won and had placed out in the hallways. My high school also had its share of accomplishments of course, and there were a lot more famous people who graduated from my high school than this one, but my high school didn't have as many trophies or awards on display.
The voting line was non-existent, there was actually just a handful of other people voting there at this time. I wore a mask, and everyone else did too. There were some temporary screens set up for the people who handled the ballots, and the pens they gave us we got to keep. Voting just involved those "bubble sheets", where you select the answer by filling in the circle. After that I put my voting sheet into this machine, and it would automatically scan and tally up my votes. I don't know why we couldn't have just voted online?
Anyway I didn't do much else throughout the day. I worked like normal, got a normal amount of work done. And then after work just read One Outs until I fell asleep. I don't even remember what I did in the morning, maybe played some beat saber for a bit. I still haven't beaten any Expert+ songs yet, but I am at that level now. All the Expert difficulty songs feel too easy for me (except for the really hard Expert songs like by Camellia and Linkin Park). Anyway that was my day today.
