Took 12k steps, Biden Declared Winner

6:43 AM (of Sunday, November 8th 2020)

Today is Saturday, November 7th 2020 and there wasn't really much that I did today. The main thing I guess, was that I walked around a lot, taking around 12k steps total throughout the day. I didn't walk that much, but this is much more than my usual ~400 steps a day if I just stayed at home all day. Yeah I went outside twice today, with the first time I went out being around 12 PM.

I fell asleep last night at around 12 AM, and I woke up this morning at around 7:30 AM. I decided today that I wouldn't be able to eat anything until I first went out for a walk, so I just stayed in my room and wasted some time reading manga until 12 PM.

And at around 12 PM I went outside to walk. The sun was bright and it was very warm outside for fall, it felt like cool summer temperatures. I walked outside in shorts, a t-shirt, and sandals, and actually sweat quite a bit as I walked. There were people I encountered wearing jackets and pants in this weather, but that's pretty crazy considering how hot it was out. The walk lasted about an hour, and it felt like it took forever. I walked about 3.3 miles.

When I got back home I mainly just read manga the entire time. I also played Beat Saber until the battery died, but whew, those expert+ songs are really tough and tiring. I've still only beat one song, but I get pretty close to the end of some. I sweat a lot as I played. When I got back in, I just read some more manga, and then went outside again to walk with my parents at around 5 PM. I walked another roughly 3 miles with them.

When we got back home, I mainly just read fiction online until I went to sleep.

Some of the fiction and manga I read online are so interesting they just keep me hooked. I fully think it's a waste of time and there are a million other things I could be doing, but it's so addicting reading a story, seeing some initial events occur, and then wanting to read more to see how the rest unfolds. These kinds of fiction today are so "amateur" yet so imaginative. The stories are very reality-bending, plots that involve time travel, dimensional travel, video game abilities in real life, harems, fantasy setting, fantasy with sci-fi, and usually a combination of all of these. The way these stories are so amateurishly done made me start my own fictions, and I've already started a few but I never completed any.

Oh, it was also today where I think Biden was declared the winner by several media sites. It's not fully official yet I think, but very credible stations have already declared Biden as the winner.

Personally I think experiencing fiction is productive (I'm always trying to get myself to stop wasting so much time on dumb online stuff and read more fiction). I see it as exercise for the brain, getting to know characters and worlds and such. It's also important if you're into any kind of creative activity such as writing/drawing. You can't create in a vacuum; you draw upon life experiences, of course, but also gain inspiration from fiction.

Though balance is important too. Like if you read so much fiction that you neglect work/school then it's no longer productive.
