Today is Saturday, December 4th 2021 and it was a good day today. I don't recall that we did much except my parents and I went to Old San Juan because I wanted to donate money to a local vegan charity here called Casa Vegana de la Comunidad. We drove to Old San Juan, the former capital here, and found this great parking area underground, it's $2.50 per hour to park there, and it's so worth it. It's so hidden though that I'm not sure everyone knows how to get there, we ended up there purely on luck because that's where my contact at Casa Vegana told us to go.
Anyway I wanted to donate this money months back, but I was hesitant to meeting up with him because I was so fat. Honestly the reason why I'm not going out much or socializing much, is because I'm unhappy with my appearance. I want to look better first before I venture out into the world, except I just eat so much. Still, I've lost around 30 pounds since the start of this year, and it's almost the end of the year. 30 pounds in one year isn't that much I think, I wanted to lose a lot more, but for sure it's progress. I want to lose another ten before the end of the year.
Also we checked out the many vendors here and it was amazing to see a lot of local vegan startups, people starting their own plant based milk businesses, people selling juices, foods, etc. We bought a bunch of things from a bunch of vendors including food and drinks, snacks, and so on. Everything was priced just right I think, like $8 or so for a vegan sushi roll (although there is another place here I can find $5 vegan sushi rolls). Even with all the government subsidies meat has, being vegan is still far cheaper. If meat didn't have so many government subsidies, their estimated true cost would actually be 3x their current prices, meaning most people couldn't afford them. We don't need meat at all, it kills animals, destroys the environment, you can get all the same nutrition and taste from plants, yet people waste their money on meat unaware or blissfully ignoring they're also causing untold destruction and suffering and harm.
After that my parents and I went home, and we ate there. Then we went out to Capri to buy some Christmas lights. After that we just came back home and just chilled at home the rest of the day. Both my parents didn't like going out because it was so hot, they complained of how hot it was and wanted to go home early instead of exploring Old San Juan some more, so that's why we didn't stay in Old San Juan for long.
