Saturday’s raid session was ONE PULL, ONE KILL against both Eric and the hippo. Even with everyone getting their tomestone weapons, I got 29% on hippo! That’s a 5% improvement! Then we had the rest of the weekend to work on the phoinix. Apparently, this is where the tier really gets tough.

An aside: We were discussing the difficulty of P3S relative to other savages, and HGR mentioned that it took us only a month to beat Titan Savage. That’s wild. It feels like that fight took months. But I looked it up and he was right: we beat Titan in four sessions, with a 6% enrage on the second session. I guess it makes sense. We were overgeared and had Kan to feed us the mechanics, so it was just a matter of execution.

Here, our gear is very much a work in progress, and we’re homebrewing all our strats, which is more satisfying but also much more time-consuming. We’re currently working our way through the add phase. Based on muscle memory, we assumed that we had to kill the birds in different spots (the four cardinals of the arena), but after they resurrected, we were like “Maybe we can just group them all up in the center and hit them with aoe?” Big nope—when killed in a heap like that, they give damage up stacks to the boss, who promptly wiped us with a raidwide.

Speaking of Titan: On Monday, HGR and I were farming our weekly tomestones, and we got Titan Normal (Eden) in roulette. Turns out I do not remember a single thing about Titan. It’s been nearly two years. But HGR remembers everything. He was calling the fight as if he still does this every week. Of course, none of the pubs got the benefit of his calls, and also I am bad and died to bomb boulders. For a large portion of the fight, we were down to HGR and the two tanks. HGR kept reviving the other healer, who was new to the duty and kept dying immediately afterward.

Then the tanks died and it was just HGR on the field—but we had LB3 up. “LB3!!” yelled the chat. HGR did not immediately LB3. He was doing mechanics. He soloed the fight until he had a couple safe seconds to use the limit break, and then he revived all of us and we defeated Titan together.

“Did you see me carrying?!” he said. He got six player commendations.
