Something new to get used to: Tuesdays are short days. I’ve grown accustomed to spending the time from around 10:30 pm to midnight walking (while reading Kindle books, playing Artifracture, etc.), and then after midnight I catch up on work, do my remaining Habitica dailies, and head to bed past 2 am. Having to sleep early means a couple hours lopped off my day.
I didn’t quite manage an early night last night. I was hoping to finish my work project. After a while, it became clear that I wasn’t going to finish without staying up untenably late, but I still wanted to make a bit more progress. So I wound up going to bed at 12:50 am. (Still earlier than normal.) If I didn’t have to go to the office the next day I might have just stayed up and finished the whole thing.
Got up at 6:45 and my roommate (who stayed up all night playing his latest game IN JAPANESE) was like “?? Aren’t you up early?” He totally forgot I had to go to work. Like, who does that any more?
The weather has been a seesaw lately. Today was cool and drizzly in the mid-50s. I finished my project around 10:30 and picked up a new one. I didn’t feel that sleepy, but I miswrote the word “club” because I couldn’t remember which way the letter “b” goes, so it’s safe to say that sleep deprivation is affecting my performance.
For lunch I went to the new food hall and got a rendang bowl from the Indonesian stall. It was good but pricey ($18 for a medium-sized bowl, smaller than what I’d get at a lot of fast-casual places around here). Not sure if it’s worth a repeat but it feels good to be wandering around and trying out new things. Roommate really wanted to swing by the food hall after one of his recent appointments to grab a burger but there wasn’t time.
